The covering materials for sunroom mainly include glass and panels, which have significant differences in performance in terms of lighting, insulation, and heat preservation, directly affecting the user experience of sunroom.

Glass:

Tempered glass: With high safety, it is a common choice for sunroom. Compared to ordinary glass, tempered glass has higher impact resistance, and after breakage, it appears as obtuse angled particles, making it less prone to injury. When choosing tempered glass, it is important to ensure that it has obtained formal 3C certification and quality assurance.

Hollow glass: composed of two or more layers of glass, forming an air layer or filled with inert gas in the middle, with good insulation and sound insulation effects. In the cold winter, insulated glass can effectively prevent indoor heat loss; In the hot summer, it can reduce the external heat input and maintain a comfortable temperature in the sunroom.

Low-E glass: The surface is coated with a low emissivity film, which has a high reflectivity for infrared and ultraviolet rays. In summer, it can block a large amount of solar radiation heat from entering the room, reducing air conditioning energy consumption; In winter, indoor heat can be reflected back into the room to provide insulation. Meanwhile, Low-E glass can effectively prevent furniture, flooring, and other items from fading due to UV exposure.

Board:

PC board (polycarbonate board): It has the advantages of light weight, strong impact resistance, high light transmittance, and aging resistance. The impact strength of PC board is 250-300 times that of ordinary glass, and it is not easy to break even under heavy impact, with extremely high safety. In addition, the PC board can effectively block ultraviolet rays and protect indoor items from UV damage. However, the thermal insulation performance of PC boards is slightly inferior to glass, and the selection needs to be balanced according to actual needs.

Acrylic board: Good transparency, relatively low price, but poor wear resistance, easy to scratch after long-term use. Acrylic board is suitable for sunroom projects that require high lighting, have limited budget, and low frequency of use.
